D-Rex the Robotic Dinosaur is one of the coolest robotic pet toys that I have ever seen, and is definitely the hottest interactive pet of the year. This dinosaur can do everything, and your kids will have hours of fun with this guy. At first glance D-Rex looks intimidating, but once you play with him, you will realize that he actually has a sense of humor and a fun personality that the kids really love.

I bought this toy for my son recently, and I am still amazed at how much this dinosaur can actually do. He has been very durable for my 4 year old and has done everything that the commercials promise. My son loves to put him on guard mode so he can roar at the unsuspecting people (my wife and I usually) that walk near him. It’s a really great toy and we are happy that we bought him. You can find the best price at Amazon, and you can usually get FREE Shipping through them too…

Fearsome Predator or Lovable Pet?
Though he wears a collar and stands only 14 inches tall, this D-Rex robotic dinosaur is still a “fearsome” predator. Kids will be enthralled by his realistic skin, and lifelike movements, which are possible thanks to biomorphic robotics. His fiery orange eyes scan the room, and his neck and tail “muscles” ripple with movement. D-Rex has a personality all his own with over 100 sounds and movements, as well as sensors that respond to light, sound, and touch.

Become His Master
Using the bone-shaped remote control, kids can program D-Rex to perform a number of actions from up to 25 feet away. Pressing “attack” mode makes D-Rex stand alert, and pressing it a second time sends him on a roaring rampage. In “guard” mode, D-Rex stiffens and scans the room, moving his head from side to side. At the first sound of an intruder, D-Rex will roar to alert you.

D-Rex Pet Dinosaur

While D-Rex is an effective guardian, like any pet he has needs of his own. If D-Rex’s tail stops wagging, he may want attention. Pet his head and quickly get his tail wagging. Also, to keep his hunger at bay, kids can feed him. His jaws will move up and down, stopping only after he has had his fill.

Robotic Dinosaur Interaction

As kids learn to tame D-Rex and keep him happy, they can relate to him much like a real-live pet. In “seek” mode, D-Rex comes when you whistle, and in “prank” mode, he repeats funny sounds. Best of all, an advanced training feature allows kids to teach him a specific sequence of actions that he will then repeat on command.

As a power-saving feature, D-Rex takes a “Dino-nap” when not being used. Parents will want to assist with removing the toy’s packaging and installing two “AAA” batteries (not included) in the bone remote control.

What’s in the Box
D-Rex Interactive Robotic Dinosaur, five “C” batteries, and bone control. (Two “AAA” batteries for the remote control not included.)

Robotic Dinosaur Videos

D-REX Interactive Dinosaur is a cool, prehistoric creature with a personality all his own. He is able to do a number of different things like roar, walk, burp, fart even stand guard. At first glance D-Rex seems to be a bit ferocious and scary, but quickly you will realize that he actually is loyal and has a great sense of humor. D-Rex the robotic dinosaur is also much bigger than he looks in the pictures which is why I wanted to include some videos so you have a better idea of how cool this dinosaur really is…

This first video is the actual commercial, in case you haven’t already seen it. It atleast gives you a good idea of his size and some of the things that he can do…

This next video is just hilarious. You don’t really get a good look at D-rex the robotic dinosaur, but you sure can see the possibilities of what your kids will be able to do with this guy…

Reviews Provided By Amazon.com

We bought D-REX the robotic dinosaur as a birthday present for our 8-year old son and he can’t stop playing with it. He wanted “Spike” from Fisher Price until seeing D-Rex on TV. The first time we put batteries in and flipped the switch, it was like being in Jurassic Park. The thing is scarily alive AND really funny. Gave me (a man in his 30s) a big happy chill up the spine. Overall, one of the best toys we’ve ever bought him. Very durable and realistic. Highly-recommended. (Ed, Raleigh, NC)

Hesitant at first about purchasing this for my 5 year old dinosaur-mad little girl. Happy that I did. Does all it’s advertised to do. Put batts in and tried it out before wrapping it up for Xmas….had a ball just playing with it myself. Looks a little mean in the beginning but it plays, growls, bites his bone, walks around the house “looking” at things & comes when you call it. It’s like an ugly puppy that somehow starts to look adorable. Has great facial(?!)expressions. My daughter is going to LUV this robotic dinosaur, and to me, seeing her so happy is worth the pricetag. Super toy! (Mom, NY, NY)

Santa brought D-Rex for my son for Christmas this year, and he LOVES it! Although the D-Rex is suggested for older boys, my son is only 4 and this is one of his favorite toys. He loves the prank mode, where the robotic dinosaur burps and farts! I think the adults get just as much amusment from D-Rex as my son does. (Rebecca, Neosha, MO)
